| In recent years Shiraz has been seen by many as embodying the future for South African wine at the highest level. The vineyards sites could produce wines with notable elegance and freshness, allied to a fine texture. |
 |
| They bring out the best in the varietal and that is to work with low yielding and old untrellised bush vines which allows them to get that very authentic flavour, that smacks of the earth, from grapes that will deliver that taste to you in the way that no other will. |

| False Bay Chardonnay aims to retain enough of the immediate charm of South African Chardonnays, but aspires to be more serious, more fine and complex. Apart from those instantly seductive typical lemony, creamy flavours that it normally develops, it also displays pronounced minerality specific to vineyards in the Robertson area. |
 |
The production areas from Perdeberg & Durbanville provides wine with its distinct green pepper backbone and crisp acidity. False Bay blend them with wine from a small, but warmer Paarl vineyard, which fills out the wine with more tropical flavours that seems to complement the minerality brought in by the other vineyards.

The False Bay Chenin Blanc vineyard is the jewel that was found by their viticulturist & winemaker. The decomposed granite characteristics of the Perdeberg Mountain seem to deliver a wine of structural finesse and minerality.

For False Bay, this sounded just about right and they were committed to produce great wines to fit this definition. It is a cornerstone of the False Bay winemaking philosophy that the vineyard must always and will always matter. Winemaking recipes must never lead to a wine with a generic sameness from vintage to vintage and the unique characteristics of different areas should be highlighted, rather than being blended away as a rule. The winemaking team led by reknowned Werner Engelbrecht is working hard to reveal the characters of particular terroirs that are identified as being most suitable. False Bay wines are wines of character, personality, and quality from some of the best vineyards they identified. |
